Democratic Autonomous Administration receives European delegation
A European delegation visited the Executive Council of North and East Syria in Raqqa Canton today, where they discussed the importance of solidarity and consolidating the principles of democracy and participation in Syria. The delegation also praised the Autonomous Administration's experience in the region
The co-chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DANES), Hussein Othman, and the council's co-chairs welcomed a European delegation at the headquarters of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DANES) in Raqqa Canton
The visiting delegation included Martin Shirdiwan, Member of the European Parliament and Co-Chair of the Left Group in the European Parliament; Nora Friese-Wendenburg, Deputy Director of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation; Faik Yagizay, Dem Party representative to the European Institutions in Strasbourg; and Faik Yagizay's advisor, Dr. Sarah Glenn.
During the visit, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly Syria following the fall of the former regime. Both sides emphasized that Syria today is in dire need of unity and a unified discourse to build a Syria for all Syrians.
The Executive Council also briefed the visiting delegation on the Autonomous Administration project and the co-chair system. The success of this model in consolidating the principles of democracy and participation was emphasized, along with exploring prospects for joint cooperation and exchange of expertise.
The visiting delegation expressed its admiration for the Autonomous Administration's experience in North and East Syria and praised the strategic and pioneering role played by the Autonomous Administration, the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the people in eliminating ISIS.
This meeting comes within the framework of strengthening international relations and introducing the democratic experience of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria
