Massive fire engulfs Al-Jahez Park in Damascus
A massive fire broke out in Al-Jahez Park (the Lovers’ Meeting Place), located in the Abu Rummaneh neighborhood in central Damascus.

A massive fire broke out last night, Saturday to Sunday, in Al-Jahez Park, located in the Abu Rummaneh neighborhood in central Damascus, Syria.
The fire spread over a large area of the park, causing a state of concern and fear among local residents and park visitors.
According to the Syrian Observatory, firefighting and rescue teams intervened to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby areas. Meanwhile, extremists were accused of orchestrating the blaze, sparking controversy and outrage among citizens and officials.
It is worth noting that the park contains numerous statues and artistic sculptures, most notably a statue of the writer and philosopher Al-Jahez. The park is also well known in social circles as a popular meeting place for lovers.
