PKK calls for readiness for next stage with spirit of struggle, determination
The Central Committee of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) has called for a correct understanding and successful implementation of the 12th Congress’s decisions, emphasizing the importance of self-renewal in line with the Apoist philosophy, and readiness for the upcoming stage with a spirit of struggle and decisive action. The committee also stressed the necessity of rallying around the Leader Abdullah Ocalan with stronger willpower.
Firat News Agency published the Central Committee’s message addressed to the historic 12th Congress of the PKK, which reads:
“To the 12th Congress of the Kurdistan Workers' Party
Dear comrades,
First of all, on behalf of our Congress, we greet the leader of our people’s freedom, the founder of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, the leader of the Kurdish people and of all peoples, the true friend of women, the great social visionary and creator of the democratic civilization theory — Leader Abdullah Ocalan — with love and respect. He has developed a historic resistance in Imrali for 27 years and brought us to this congress. He laid the foundation for and prepared this 12th Congress. We wish victory to everyone fighting for the physical freedom of Leader Apo.
We are holding our Party Congress in May, the month of martyrs. The public, both inside and outside the country, is watching this congress with great curiosity. We are also marking the 48th anniversary of the martyrdom of Haki Karer. Leader Apo described this great revolutionary and martyr as his 'hidden soul'. It is well known that our movement was founded on the basis of leadership, and our party is the Party of Martyrs. Therefore, the truth of leadership and martyrdom leads our 12th Congress, showing us the way forward.
On this basis, we commemorate all our heroic martyrs with love, appreciation, respect, and gratitude, from Haki Karer to the founders of our party Ali Haydar Kaytan and Riza Altun, from Sakine Cansiz to the latest martyrs of the Zap resistance such as Besê Têkoşîn, Mitra Qato, and Gabar Botan, bringing the total number of martyrs to 45,000. We renew our pledge to uphold their memory, follow in their footsteps, and crown their goals with victory. On another note, our dear comrade and friend Sırrı Süreyya Önder made a great effort for our 12th Congress. For 12 years, he participated in the work of Leader Apo and provided significant support. He passed away on May 3 while working for the call of 'peace and democratic society'. On this occasion, we remember the martyr of peace and democracy, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, with love, respect, and gratitude.”
