The Russian President warned of escalating tensions in the Middle East, believing that the international situation is heading toward further escalation and danger due to the involvement of non-regional powers in existing conflicts. He also sharply criticized Western policies, accusing NATO leaders of seeking to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Russia and bolstering the global arms race through an unprecedented increase in military spending.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today that the current situation in the world is changing dynamically, noting that the situation in the Middle East is worsening.

During a meeting with graduates of Russian military universities, Putin said: "The current international situation is undergoing dynamic changes. We see how the situation in the Middle East has deteriorated sharply, and non-regional powers are being drawn into the conflict. All of this is pushing the world to a very dangerous point."

In another context, Putin asserted that some Western politicians are planning to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, noting that history has taught them nothing.

Putin added, "We know that at the upcoming NATO summit, they plan to announce the launch of a large-scale program to strengthen the alliance's capabilities. To achieve this, the military budgets of NATO countries will be increased."

Putin continued, "At the same time, the alliance countries already spend more on military purposes than the rest of the world combined. This makes it clear who is really driving this issue: global militarism and the arms race."
