On Thursday, tensions between Israel and Iran escalated significantly, as Israel launched its largest airstrike yet against targets inside Iranian territory in the early hours of Friday morning, involving 200 aircraft.

Sensitive sites were targeted, including nuclear facilities and military headquarters affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, such as the enrichment facility in Natanz and ballistic missile factories.

According to initial reports, there were heavy casualties. Iranian state media confirmed on Friday the death of the Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, in an Israeli airstrike as part of the attacks carried out by Tel Aviv on multiple locations in Iran. Iranian state television also confirmed the death of the Commander of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, in the Israeli attack.

The official Iranian broadcaster also reported that nuclear scientists Fereydoon Abbasi-Davani and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi were killed in an Israeli airstrike today.

Tehran stated that its air defenses partially repelled the attack but vowed a strong response, claiming the assault was launched from areas under American control in Iraq.

The attack marks a dangerous escalation in the regional conflict and could have broader implications if tensions continue to rise.
