The seminars, held in Qamishlo, Hasaka, Derik, and Amuda, saw notable participation from political figures, civil society actors, and representatives of parties and local institutions. These gatherings were characterized by dialogue focusing on the future of the Kurdish issue in Syria and the role of historic leaders—particularly Abdullah Öcalan—in advancing Kurdish understanding.

The events featured broad participation from political, social, and civil actors. A key theme was praise for leeader Abdullah Ocalan's call and his historic role in pushing forward Kurdish consensus.

In a public seminar held at Afrin Hall in Qamishlo, the head of the ENKS Political Bureau, Mohammed Ismail, gave a speech outlining the latest developments concerning the Kurdish issue.

Ismail stated that the constitutional declaration proposed by the Damascus regime in its current form is “rejected by the people,” affirming that Syria cannot achieve stability without a genuine national reconciliation that rejects the return of Ba'athist authoritarianism and lays the foundation for a new phase of political participation.

He described the April 26 Kurdish Unity Conference as a turning point, saying, “It was not the product of any one party or faction, but rather a response to a national call aimed at enshrining Kurdish rights within the Syrian constitution.”

At a political seminar organized by the ENKS in Hasaka with participation from political party representatives and civil society organizations, ENKS presidential board member Naimet Dawoud moderated the discussions centered on the importance of Kurdish unity in light of regional challenges.

Dawoud emphasized, “The current stage is the result of a long Kurdish struggle spanning over 70 years,” adding that unity is now a national necessity, not merely a political choice.

He highlighted Ocalan’s “historic call,” saying, “Leader Ocalan’s appeal played a significant role in creating the atmosphere for the conference. It strengthened opportunities for joint action and helped overcome divisions among Kurdish political forces—not only in Rojava, but across Kurdistan and the Kurdish diaspora.”

Dawoud stressed that the goal is “to build a democratic and participatory Syria where Kurds have an active role as genuine partners in shaping the country's future.”

At a political seminar held in the office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, ENKS presidential board member Suleiman Oso emphasized that any solution in Syria must be based on democracy and decentralization.

Oso said, “The Kurdish cause has made great sacrifices throughout history. It is time for the Kurdish people to take part in rebuilding Syria’s future.”

He also underscored the importance of returning displaced Kurds to their occupied areas such as Afrin and Serekaniye, stating that Kurdish unity “is the cornerstone of stability and must be preserved and developed.”

In Amuda, the ENKS held a public meeting to discuss political developments and the outcomes of the Qamishli conference.

The seminar was led by ENKS presidential board member Fawzla Youssef, who stressed that “the Kurdish people are a fundamental component of the new Syria.”

Youssef pointed out that the Damascus regime continues to exclude Kurds from the political process, warning against attempts to rely on external forces—specifically the Turkish government—to derail any comprehensive national initiative.

She praised leader Abdullah Ocalan’s role in achieving Kurdish political consensus, stating, “ the leader played a pivotal role in preparing for this conference. His historic appeal was a blessed step that opened doors for dialogue and fostered a climate of trust among parties.”

She added that the conference was not merely a political meeting, but “a genuine expression of the will of the Kurdish people.”

 Affirming Kurdish Unity

The series of seminars concluded with broad consensus among participants that guaranteeing Kurdish national rights in Syria is a fundamental entry point to any lasting political solution. They emphasized that Kurdish unity must not be temporary, but rather a long-term strategy.

Participants also stressed the need to protect the outcomes of the April 26 conference, uphold its inclusive spirit, deepen Kurdish understandings, and capitalize on the political momentum both locally and internationally.

A notable point throughout the events was the widespread public and political appreciation for Abdullah Ocalan’s role in guiding the Kurdish movement toward unity. His recent address was seen as a political compass that helped transcend divisions and strengthen the spirit of unity.
