The Kremlin issued renewed criticism of Israel, stating that it does not wish to pursue a political path to resolve the ongoing conflict. Moscow escalated its warnings about the worsening situation in the Middle East, predicting a deterioration toward "a worse escalation." At the same time, it reiterated its readiness to mediate between Israel and Iran.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that his country "sees Israel's reluctance to pursue a peaceful settlement with Iran," and criticized Tel Aviv's refusal to accept mediation offers to de-escalate and put matters on the path to a political solution.

Moscow has strongly criticized the Israeli attack on Iran since day one, describing it as "categorically unacceptable."

Peskov reiterated his country's position, saying that the Russian side, and in particular President Vladimir Putin, has repeatedly emphasized that "Russia is ready to provide all possible mediation efforts when necessary. At the present time, we see a reluctance, at least on the part of Israel, to engage in any mediation efforts and to pursue a peaceful settlement in general."

The Russian spokesman warned that "the situation in the Middle East is extremely worrying and dangerous, and is currently heading towards further escalation."

He said that, in these circumstances, Russia "calls on the parties to exercise maximum restraint in order to move towards a political and diplomatic settlement."

Peskov noted that his country is monitoring the statements and reactions issued by the United States and Israel regarding the prospects for escalation. He explained that "the Kremlin has been informed of the statements made by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Iran."

He commented on Trump's call for Tehran residents to evacuate, as well as Netanyahu's statement regarding the possible assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, saying, "The situation is very worrying and dangerous. Of course, we have seen and heard these statements."
