Meeting between NE Syria delegation, Damascus authorities in Damascus
A delegation from North and East Syria is holding a meeting in Damascus with representatives of the Damascus authorities, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance dialogue and follow up on the implementation of the March 10 Agreement.
Within the framework of efforts aimed at strengthening dialogue and implementing the provisions of the March 10 Agreement signed between the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Damascus authorities, a delegation from North and East Syria is holding an official meeting with a delegation from the Damascus authorities in the capital, Damascus.
According to statements from spokespersons of the North and East Syria delegation, the meeting focused on getting acquainted with the members of the dialogue and negotiation committee appointed by the Damascus authorities, in addition to discussing a joint work program to continue talks on mechanisms for implementing the provisions of the agreement.
The North and East Syria delegation includes members of the committee formed on April 12, namely: Fawza Youssef, a member of the Presidential Body of the Democratic Union Party (PYD); Abd Hamid al-Mahbash, Co-Chair of the Future Syria Party; Sanharib Barsoum, Co-Chair of the Syriac Union Party; Ahmed Youssef, Co-Chair of the Finance Bodyin the Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria Region; Sozdar Haji, member of the General Command of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ); Mariam Ibrahim, Co-Chair of the Body for Social Affairs and Laborers in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria Region; and Yasser Suleiman, Deputy Co-Chair of the Democratic Peoples' Council of the North and East Syria Region.
As for the Damascus authorities delegation, it consists of Mohammed Qanatri, Deputy Director of the Americas Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Abdul Ghani Mohammed, Director of Internal Security in Aleppo Province; Masoud Batal, Head of the Afrin File in Internal Security; and Ziad Fawaz Al-Ayesh, Assistant Minister of Interior for Civil Affairs.
This meeting in Damascus comes as a continuation of three prior coordination meetings held in the North and East Syria regions, beginning with the first meeting on March 19, followed by the April 12 meeting, and concluding with the most recent visit to Al-Hol Camp last week.
Through these meetings, the parties aim to solidify the path of dialogue and achieve stability in the region through the practical implementation of the agreement’s provisions.
