Joint committees from the Autonomous Administration’s Education Body and the Ministry of Education affiliated with the Damascus authority have started accepting registration applications for the preparatory certificate exams under the former regime’s curriculum, for both regular and independent students, at designated registration centers.

Students began heading to the registration centers designated by the joint committees in the cantons of Jazira, Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, Tabqa, and Euphrates from the early morning hours to register their names.

According to decisions issued by the joint committees on Tuesday, the registration fee is 22,500 Syrian pounds, to be paid upon submitting the required documents and papers for registration.

Registration centers are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the registration process will continue until June 16.

Student Sima Hamo, who registered at a center in the city of Qamishlo, shared her opinion with ANHA Agency. She explained that she had previously registered in Deir ez-Zor before the announcement of holding the exams in their own regions. However, she faced many difficulties, as she had to travel back and forth between Qamishlo and Deir ez-Zor several times to complete the registration.

Sima Hamo said: “We are very happy and grateful for the efforts made by the Autonomous Administration on our behalf.”

The number of students registering for the preparatory certificate exams has not yet been determined.

According to information obtained from the committee, registration for the secondary certificate (baccalaureate), both regular and independent tracks under the former regime’s curriculum, will begin on the 17th of this month.

The total number of students for both the preparatory and secondary certificates, in both regular and independent tracks, under the former regime’s curriculum in North and East Syria is estimated at around 70,000 male and female students.
