Both the member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, Abdul Ghani Oso, the member of the Martyrs' Families Council in al-Hasakah, Rawan Sheikho, and the member of the Democratic Union Party, Haifa Mohammed, spoke to ANHA's agency about the "Peace and Democratic Society" initiative by leader Abdullah Ocalan and the Turkish state's stance on it.
Member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, Abdul Ghani Oso, explained that leader Abdullah Ocalan did not recently call for peace and a democratic society; he announced a ceasefire for the first time in 1993. However, the Turkish state has always sought to undermine peace efforts with its flimsy excuses, especially in 1998, and after the first decade of the 21st century, and even to this day, we see that the Turkish state does not seek to find a solution to the issue.
Abdul Ghani Oso pointed out that many changes are happening in the Middle East and the world today, and explained that the Turkish state is trying to exploit the current changes to its advantage.
"Despite the historical call from the leader, the Turkish state has not yet taken any legal or judicial steps."
Abdul Ghani Oso said that despite the historic call made by leader Abdullah Ocalan on February 27, the Turkish state has not yet taken any legal action. He continued, saying, "We urge everyone to put pressure the Turkish state to take steps towards change."
"The Democratic Nation project will impact the Middle East region and the entire world."
Abdul Ghani Oso pointed out the Democratic Nation project of leader Abdullah Ocalan, and emphasized that if the current process succeeds, it will affect the Middle East region and the entire world, not just Kurdistan and Turkey.
A member of the Martyrs' Families Council in the city of al-Hasakah, Rawan Sheikho, referred to the call of leader Abdullah Ocalan for peace and a democratic society, and explained that despite the ceasefire decision and the convening of the twelfth conference of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), the Turkish state has not yet taken any tangible steps.
Rawan Sheikho emphasized that they will not stop fighting until the necessary steps are taken and that they will continue their efforts until the end.
And the member of the Democratic Union Party, Haifa Mohammed, pointed to the ongoing popular struggle in response to the leader's call and said: "We will continue to struggle until we find solution."
