According to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out in secret inside Urmia Central Prison in northwestern Iran, without allowing the prisoners to meet their families beforehand.

The organization identified the victims as Idris Ali and Azad Shojaei from Eastern Kurdistan, and Rasoul Ahmed Rasoul from Sulaymaniyah Province in Southern Kurdistan.

According to the organization, the three were arrested in July 2023 by Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and were transferred to a detention center in Urmia, where they were subjected to severe torture, according to human rights reports.

Hengaw confirmed that the detainees were forced to make confessions under torture and were tried without proper legal defense or a fair trial, which constitutes a blatant violation of international human rights standards.

International human rights organizations, including Hengaw and Amnesty International, accuse the Iranian regime of using executions as a tool to intimidate dissidents, particularly among the Kurdish population, who face systematic discrimination.
