Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed affirmed that the holding of the first conference of the "Nada" Alliance in Sulaymaniyah represents a historic opportunity for women to play their true and effective role in the process of building societies.

This came during her participation in the first conference of the Regional Democratic Women's Alliance in the Middle East and North Africa, known by the abbreviation (Nada), which began today, Thursday, in the city of Sulaymaniyah under the sponsorship of the Kurdistan Women's Union.

The conference witnesses a notable attendance of about 200 women from 19 countries in the Middle East and North Africa region, in addition to the participation of several women who will join the alliance as members and candidates. The conference lasts for three days.

In her speech before journalists, Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, a member of the political bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Union, explained that "this conference is the result of long efforts and continuous work by women who believe in the cause of change and justice," pointing out that "women have long awaited this moment for years and have faced many challenges to achieve it."

She continued, saying: "Previously, we left decision-making to men, and the result was an aggravation of problems and complications in situations. Today, this conference gives us a real space to prove our ability to actively contribute to solutions and to build a more balanced and just society."
