SDF thwarts ISIS cells' plot in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with the support of local residents, foiled a plot by ISIS cells to target its military points in the town of Darnaj in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside.
Today, the Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) published a news on its official website about thwarting a plot by ISIS cells in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside:
" On Saturday, our forces, with support from local residents, thwarted an ISIS plot targeting our forces in the town of Darnach, Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside.
Following a tip-off from residents about suspicious activity, our units responded swiftly and surrounded the area. The terrorist cell opened fire and our forces responded, as a result, one ISIS terrorist was eliminated, and another escaped. A search operation was launched by our forces in the area.
The cell was attempting to plant explosives in the area where our forces are stationed and actively operating. This operation highlights the importance of local cooperation in defeating terrorism and securing our region.
Our forces remain committed to pursuing ISIS remnants and preventing future attacks."
